Dear Wildkind Community, the following is a love letter to you…

February has arrived, and I think we are all feeling a unique discomfort, a threshold that we are meeting that represents changing times on a dramatic scale.

For many, these are heavy days. The world feels loud, fractured, and raw. Political unrest, disturbing revelations, and the unraveling of systems we were taught to trust can leave the nervous system braced, the mind ruminating or overvigilant, our bodies fatigued and numb, and our hearts broken. Beneath it all is a shared sense of uncertainty, not quite sure what will emerge in this rapidly changing world.

This is not a sign that something has gone wrong.

It is a sign that something unsustainable is losing its grip. YOU WERE BORN FOR THESE TIMES.

Nature teaches us that change, death and compost are not failures, they are prerequisites for renewal. Winter does not panic when leaves fall. It does not rush to fix what is dying. It creates the conditions for what is essential to endure.

This moment in time is asking for Wild and Kind leadership.

Not the kind that dominates or bypasses, but the kind in which grace meets action. Leadership that is rooted in nature’s wisdom, embodied through discipline and right relationship with people and land, and infused with the LOVE for LIFE. These moments ask us to stay present rather than dissociate. To remain curious rather than hardened. To be steady without becoming rigid. Now is the time for deeply honored self-care practices, community resilience-building, and a big dose of open-hearted medicine.

Being the change you wish to see in the world does not require force. It requires coherence.

ALIVENESS training involves tending to your senses, remember we are not just visitors on the planet; we are all living ecosystems, all connected through the web of life. Presence over paralysis.

Holistic survival asks us to return to the fundamentals of living with enlivenment.

Focus on building hyper-local community networks to build resilience

  • Laugh often
  • Hydrate and bless your water with intention
  • Gratitude practice
  • Eat to nourish
  • Regulate the nervous system daily with nature-based rhythms (wake up with the sun)
  • Move your body to enliven circulation and vitality
    Touch the earth
  • Breathe long and fully
  • Limit the intake of information that fractures your attention and fragments your sense of safety

This is not escapism.
This is resilience training.

A culture built on disconnection, overconsumption, and chronic stress cannot sustain itself. As it cracks, those who have cultivated inner steadiness become anchors ~ and we need these types of leaders to organize. Your presence matters. Your capacity to feel without collapsing matters. Your willingness to remain both wild and kind matters.

Tend your inner fire—Protect your sensitivity—Stay rooted in what is real.

With you in this season of change,

Jess
